John Stammers Memorial Scholarship

About the John Stammers Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship of $1,500 was established in memory of John Stammers, a professor who taught Accounting and Lighting Design at Humber College, and who was killed on the picket line during the 2006 strike. This scholarship shall be awarded to an individual pursuing post- secondary education, and who has demonstrated sound academic achievement, a commitment to social justice, and an activist in the labour movement.

Who Can Apply

Open to all dependents* of OPSEU Local 562 (Humber Faculty Union) members in good standing, who are confirmed as enrolled in a post-secondary program at a publicly-funded, recognized Canadian university, college, or trades program for the 2022-2023 academic year.
